Particularly now the weather is getting nicer, equine photoshoot dates are booking even more quickly! The sooner you book means A) you’ll get your desired date, and B) you have more time to get familiar with the photoshoot process and get excited!
So what is the equine photoshoot process?
Getting to know each other
Once we’ve confirmed a date and you’ve booked a photoshoot with me, I’ll shortly send over a questionnaire. Most people fill this out online, but if you would like to jump on a call and go through it that way that’s fine too! This questionnaire is the foundation of your photoshoot and is a great way for me to get to know you and your lovely horse(s)! Booking in advance gives us plenty of time to get to know each other – becoming friends with my clients is one of my favourite things!
Outfits
Are you worried you won’t know what to wear for your session? Don’t worry! After booking my equine clients receive a whole online guide that includes outfit inspiration! Booking a session far in advance gives you plenty of time to choose or source your perfect outfit!
Location Scouting
Likewise, booking in advance gives us even more time to plan the photoshoot location. Most people opt to have their equine photoshoot where their horse lives as that is typically where they are most settled. However we can also meet at a special location, for example a woods you often ride in.
Booking your dream photographer
This is the biggest benefit of booking early – getting on your dream photographer’s calendar. Photographers book months in advance (even years in advance since I photograph weddings too!) The sooner you enquire for your equine photoshoot, the more likely you are to get your desired date.
To summarise…
When is the best time to book your photoshoot? As soon as you want! With equine sessions I typically book for the current year, so no further than a year in advance. (Keep in mind that Spring and Summer dates tend to book the fastest!)
I can also offer equine photoshoot gift vouchers if you were wanting to purchase a photoshoot for a family member or friend, or even hint at it for your upcoming birthday 😉
